Alessandro (Sandro) D'Agaro, CFA

I built my own financial foundation without a family playbook. No one taught me how to invest, how to think about risk, or how to avoid the emotional mistakes that cost real money. I made things work. But I also made mistakes that better guidance would have prevented. That's the perspective I bring to clients.
That experience shapes everything about how I work with clients. I know what it feels like to earn more than your parents did and have no idea what to do with it. I know the gap between knowing you should have a plan and actually having one. I built D'Agaro Financial Advisory for people in that position: first-generation wealth builders who want structure and clarity without the pressure or the pretense.
After two decades in investment research at UBS Global Asset Management and Thrivent Asset Management, and earning my Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation, I wanted my work to focus directly on people, not markets.
My path here was not straight. I studied Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), served as a Navy officer in the submarine service and intelligence community, and later earned my MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Each step taught me discipline, problem-solving, and how to navigate uncertainty. These are the same skills I bring to every client relationship.
Outside of work, I find clarity the same way I encourage clients to: through steady routines and quiet persistence. I recently completed my first marathon, the 50th anniversary Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., finishing under my five-hour goal. It reminded me that progress is built one step, one mile, one day, and one decision at a time.
You will often find me outdoors hiking, traveling (especially back to Italy), reading, or adding to my 12,000-album music collection. I also have a streak of over one year of working out every day. My wife and I treasure time with our four grown kids, wherever life takes them next.
As a fiduciary and fee-only advisor, I work for my clients. I do not take commissions or sell products. My role is to be your guide, helping you build a financial structure that holds.
Our Values
Clarity Over Complexity
Simplicity reveals what matters most. I help you cut through the noise so decisions become clear and confidence returns.
Honesty Above Comfort
Honesty builds trust. I tell you what you need to hear, not only what you hope to hear, so you can make stronger choices.
Endurance Over Excitement
Real progress takes time and effort. Steady steps, patience, and persistence build lasting wealth long after trends fade.
Transparency Above Self-Interest
Nothing hidden, ever. Clear fees, honest advice, and open communication define every decision we make.
